The content of the course is in line with the increasing importance of information security in all spheres of life. The main objective of the course is to gain knowledge about the essential elements of business information systems security, the risks of its breach and the modern technologies and tools for security protection. The course examines the areas of application of cyber security, methods of encryption - symmetric and asymmetric, approaches such as hashing and steganography. Basic concepts such as: digital signatures, certificates and certification, firewalls, virtual private networks, etc. are studied. The main types of malware, cyber security policies and standards, authentication approaches including multi-factor authentication are presented. Blockchain technology is discussed as well as specific examples of implementing and building secure applications.

The course aims to provide students the basic technologies used in building three-tier client / server architecture of an information system. The presentation of tools and methodology development are in line to obtain the skills to identify and solve specific information problems. Selected teaching strategy is to create skills for students to explore literature and to explore the problem originated information and finding the right tools to solve it. Overall, the course aims to develop additional skills to build complex three-layer systems based on client / server technologies. Previous skills in the development of information systems are a prerequisite, as this discipline extends and deepens the already acquired knowledge of the disciplines, "Design of Information Systems" and "Fundamentals of the development of application software systems."
